Tsleil Waututh artist Angela George presented an artist talk about her large-scale woven governance document, “Weaving Governance.” This monumental panel weaving reflects a foundational governance model for the Tsleil-Waututh Nation that demonstrates evidence of ancient knowledge and connection to the lands, waters and ancestors that continues to guide and empower sustainability in modern times. The weaving is also the capstone project and culmination of research for George’s MBA in Indigenous Business Management. The artist talk was followed by a Q&A session and a two hour informal open-studio preceded the talk.
