Local textile artist Zoe McDonell presented a talk and live demonstration on the nexus of colour, nature and conservation from the forests of the Pacific Northwest. Participants were introduced to foraging and harvesting for natural dyes using mushrooms, lichens, and plants.  The demonstration specifically focused on dyeing with a variety of mushrooms. Zoe was joined by artist-in-residence Debra Sparrow for the event.
