Open House with Carole Itter

The Blue Cabin Cooperative and C3 are excited to welcome visitors to an Open House for Carole Itter’s residency. Visit and chat with Carole Itter at the Blue Cabin (situated at Heritage Harbour, north of the Vancouver Maritime Museum at 1905 Ogden Ave, Vancouver).

Carole Itter is a Vancouver artist who works in performance, installations, and film. In 2023, she exhibited at SFU’s Downtown Gallery, and at the Belkin Gallery at UBC. Itter worked extensively with multi-disciplinary artist and musician Al Neil, the longtime resident of the original Blue Cabin, in Dollarton, B.C. In 2017, she received the Audain Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Visual Arts. She was awarded an Honorary Doctorate from Emily Carr University in 2024. She is 85 and a half and still standing.

Itter’s residency takes place from May 21 – June 29, 2025.




Artist Talk with Carole Itter

Please join us for an informal talk with current artist in residence Carole Itter at 5:00pm on June 11. Itter will speak on her history with the Blue Cabin and her current work in residence.

During her six-week residency, two days will include making a short film on the beach near the cabin. The eight-person cast and crew are all mid-career women filmmakers and photographers.

Seating is limited, as the barge may list. Please RSVP to e.rausenberg@gmail.com if you are planning to attend.
